The company was established late 1999 its main focus was to provide quality support and professional development for Māori teachers with a particular focus in Māori medium and Māori language programmes.

In 2004 Event Management services were injected into the business, with an aim of assisting organizations and businesses to create professional, culturally dynamic and vibrant events.

Tihi is privately owned and operated by Wharehoka and Emere Wano who bring a wealth of technical skill, knowledge and experience but the core essence of the company and its strength is the importance that Whare, Emere and the Tihi team place on relationships. When you engage with us you're not just a client, we want to build valuable and meaningful partnerships.

Our vision is to be a centre of excellence for the production and promotion of Māori Education and the Arts. Tihi's strategic intent and objectives are to;
